I've visited this little sub and ice cream shop many times and it always has me feeling very satisfied, and warm inside cause I was able to help out a small mom and pop shop. The man working here, whom I've yet to get his name is a vibrant heat warming fella'. Very friendly, makes you feel like a regular. The food, great! I can't believe anyone would rate this place poorly, for what it is its FANTASTIC. I've tried almost all the subs on the menu, my most recent visit I got the rib sub for myself, loaded it up with all the toppings, made a huge mess eating it and loved every minute of it. Its places and eats like this that make life all worth while, yes its a big statement I know but its truly a gem. Something has to be done right to get consistent high ratings. I was shocked to see someone write a poor review on this place knowing full well what they were getting into. These are the comfort foods that are hard to come by in this day and age with big franchised companies saturating the industry. From street meat to racks of lamb, I've had it all and this place gets my approval! I will be coming back and I'm bringing a crowd. Wheres Anthony Bourdain when you need him? p.s. Andy's is a great place for breakfast and even lunch. Their breakfast is the best and cheapest in town. Andy, the cook is a bit of a jerk but her makes a good breakfast. His son, the waiter, is pleasnat enough, not friendly at all but I think that's just the way he is. Anna, the wife is super nice and always talks about her grandkids in Greece and shows us pictues. My favourite breakfast is the cheese omletter and their club sandwich is excellent. They also have very good fish and chips. They used to stay open later on Friday nights to serve it, but don't any mor. Too bad. The only problem is that Deb doesn't work there any more. She was the best waitress and resposible for a lot of people coming in. She was friendly and seemed to know everybody. I miss he working there. In conclusion, good local place to eat for cheap. Walking into "lunch at one eleven", I thought I would be served the same cafeteria style burger and fries that I have become used to. I was pleased to see that none of his items were fried. He offers fresh sandwiches, salads, and some in house baked specials. I chose the corned beef on marble rye, and was very pleased. It was fresh, came quick, and was offered at a reasonable price. I get lunch at Nooners several times a week and have done so for at least 10 years (usually take-out). The food is always delicious - very fresh and homemade. Their soups and sandwiches are especially good (and the cookies....). I find the staff are always friendly, know regular customers by name (and their usual orders) and are very efficient despite the large number of people who are there for lunch every day. I do not think there is a lunch place anywhere else in London that can match Nooners for quality, speed and value. Read more
